How do I set up my profile for the first time?
[ To setup your profile on Crosstrainer, first click on your profile picture in the top left corner of the screen. This will open your profile settings, where you can set your email, password, activity level, weight unit of measure, body type, age and height ]
Does Crosstrainer require an account or internet connection?
No account is required. Crosstrainer is a fully offline, local-first app. All your data is stored securely on your device. An internet connection is only needed to search the FatSecret food database or to use the backup/restore feature (Premium).
Which devices and operating systems are supported?
[ Crosstrainer is available for iOS and Android devices. For iOS, it is compatible with iPhone and iPad devices running iOS 14.0 or later. For Android, it is compatible with Android phones and tablets running Android 7.0 (Nougat) or later. ]
Nutrition Tracking
Where does the food database come from?
Crosstrainer uses the FatSecret Platform API — one of the largest community-maintained food databases in the world, with millions of verified entries including brand-name and restaurant foods.
Can I add custom foods or recipes?
[Yes, as a premium feature, you can add custom foods and recipes to Crosstrainer. This allows you to track foods that are not available in the FatSecret database, such as homemade meals or specific brand-name products. To add a custom food, go to meal planner, food search and select "add my own food" where you will be prompted to enter any relevant information.]
How do I set my daily calorie and macro targets?
[Your daily calorie and macro targets are automatically calculated based on your initial onboarding entries for your activity level, age, body type, weight, height and goal weight. Once your daily calorie goal has been established, your macros are calculated based on your daily weigh ins and weight goals.]
Workouts & Cardio
How do I create a custom workout?
[To create a custom workout, all you need to do is select Workout Builder from the main menu and then give your workout a name and select your preferred exercises. Premium users have the ability to create custom exercises that are not in our general library.]
How does the GPS run tracker work?
[The run tracker will ask you for location permissions on your device. It will then track your runs via gps and log your distance, duration, average pace, splits and even heart rate (if connected to an external device)]
Can I log non-GPS cardio like cycling or swimming?
[Yes, you have the ability to log any cardio events manually, as long as you know your distance, duration and estimated intensity. You can log walks, running, swimming, cycling and more.]

What's included in Crosstrainer Premium?

How do I subscribe or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed entirely through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). To cancel, go to your device's subscription settings and cancel from there. Crosstrainer does not have access to billing information.
How do I restore my Premium purchase on a new device?
Open Crosstrainer, go to Settings → Premium, and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in to the same App Store or Google Play account used for the original purchase.
Data & Privacy
Where is my data stored?
All personal health data — workouts, nutrition logs, weight entries, and custom exercises — is stored locally on your device only. We do not transmit or store your health data on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How does the backup and restore feature work?
[The encrypted backup feature is a premium offering. To backup your data, go to settings and select Backup my data. You will be prompted to enter a password, which will then be used to encrypt and upload your backup to our cloud storage. When you go to restore your data, you will need the same password to decrypt and download your data.]
What happens to my data if I uninstall the app?
[Your data is stored locally on your device. If you uninstall the app without backing up your data, it will be lost. Therefore, we strongly recommend backing up your data before uninstalling the app. ]
